We're excited to announce our latest investment from Madica Ventures as part of our pre-seed raise. As experienced investors across the Global South, Flourish Ventures launched Madica out of a desire to flip the cookie-cutter bio of what VC-backed startups looked like across Africa.
Instead of following the fintech craze or focusing on men who get more than 98% of all startup funding across the continent, Madica looks for new models focused on industries that are ripe for innovation but oft overlooked when it comes to capital raising.
It's invigorating to have their belief, support, and financial backing as we redefine what it looks like to power African businesses starting with Nigeria. We're looking forward to building together and happy to have them in on the ground floor.
