About the job

As Marketing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand narrative and driving customer engagement here at Earthbond. Your primary responsibility will be to craft and execute a go-to-market strategy that educates, informs, and inspires our target audience on the benefits and savings that solar can provide them and their businesses by:

  • Collaborating closely with the sales and business teams to ensure that all content is aligned with our business goals.
  • Writing, Scheduling and Posting various pieces of content, including blog posts, articles, social media posts, videos, and white papers—that effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Co-authoring whitepapers and thinkpieces to generate thought leadership on climate, solar, and business topics
  • Revamping and managing our social media presence to educate and engage our customer base
  • Build material and communication to educate and enable partners to communicate our brand on our behalf
  • Take marketing from zero to one and guide the rest of the company to support a unified, strong brand vision that accelerates business results

This role requires a deep understanding of the small and medium businesses and where they congregate, a buildable grasp of the solar energy industry, strong writing and digital marketing skills, and the ability to analyze and optimize marketing performance.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and execute a content marketing strategy that aligns with the company's business goals, focusing on increasing brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Review blog schema and technical SEO attributes to boost current pages and blog site
  • Produce tri-weekly high-quality content, including blogs, articles, white papers, case studies, infographics, videos, and social media posts that highlight the benefits of solar energy and the company’s products and services.
  • Ensure that all content is optimized for search engines, incorporating relevant keywords and best practices to improve organic search rankings.
  • Plan, create, and manage content marketing campaigns that align with product launches, industry events, and seasonal trends, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Develop and maintain a strong social media presence across platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to engage with customers and industry professionals.
  • Identify and leverage the best channels for content distribution, including email newsletters, social media, and third-party publications, to reach the target audience.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on content performance metrics (e.g., traffic, engagement, conversion rates), using insights to refine content strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Create educational content that helps potential and existing customers understand the value of solar energy, addressing common concerns and questions.

Minimum requirements

  • 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably focusing on financial products and complex sales for businesses in Nigeria
  • Exceptional writing, branding, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong portfolio of work that showcases your ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Proficient in SEO best practices and tools, with the ability to optimize content for search engines and improve organic traffic.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, email marketing tools, graphic design (e.g. Canva) and analytics software.
  • Ability to interpret Google Analytics, SEMRush, Google Search Console, and Mixpanel data to make fast and smart decisions to optimize acquisition
  • Very metrics-driven with the ability to think through ROI, budgets, and timelines to results

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the solar energy industry, including the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Nigerian market.
  • High awareness of energy usage and costs across different locations and sources
  • Experience building a go-to-market playbook from scratch
  • Proficiency working with contractors, budgets, and managing a hybrid team

Work environment: Hybrid

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employment type: Milestone-Based Contract-to-hire (2 months minimum)
